Sublime Peace ~ Shakyamuni Buddha

55

The name Shakyamuni comes from Sanskrit, meaning “Sage of the Shakya,” and refers to Siddhartha Gautama, who is said to have been born a prince in Shakya. The Sage sits on a single lotus base, also known as Padmasana, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening, as the lotus flower blooms above the muddy waters.

This meditative Buddha sits peacefully, his right hand extended down towards the ground in the earth touching mudra, Bhumisparsha Mudra, capturing the moment he called upon the Earth to witness his triumph over the temptations of illusion.

Description

The Catalonia Mooji Sangha, based in Spain, has been gathering regularly since 2016.
A few years ago, they were inspired to meet in the wood workshop of one of their members, Casper, where they began carving wooden crosses to offer to others.
The joy of creating together led them to continue meeting at the workshop, where they now craft shrine ornaments, pendants, and more. Each piece unfolds slowly, often over several weeks, with many hands contributing to its creation. Rooted in selfless service and guided by a natural flow of spirit, these works are offered from the heart.
